This years Good Idea!!

Once again we will be besieged by Hilary with extortion on her mind, but just look at the cause.

Between 15th and 21st April 2006 Ben Dauncey will Attempt to Dance from Tunbridge Wells to Worcester, a distance of over 210 miles to establish a new world record for Morris Dancing and to raise £100,000 for two national charities Multiple Sclerosis and Make a wish

Have a look at the Next Foot Up web site for a full background to this event. And in case you noticed ..yes it was "our" Jim Bartlett, Cardiff Morris Man and singer of this parish. I hope he will be making an appearance over the weekend.

Multiple Sclerosis
….. is the most common disabling neurological condition affecting young adults. Around 85,000 people in the UK have MS

The MS Society?
….is the UK's largest charity dedicated to supporting everyone whose life is touched by MS.

They offer their services to all and provide a freephone MS Helpline and a wide range of information and other services. They are also committed to supporting professionals who work with people affected by MS so they can provide good quality services.

Make a Wish
Mission Statement
To grant the wishes of children and young people aged 3 to 17 living with life-threatening illnesses and raise the funds necessary to grant those wishes. In doing so, we operate to the highest ethical, legal and professional standards so that families choose Make-A-Wish to grant their child's wish and medical staff and supporters hold Make-A-Wish in high regard.

Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK has no cures to offer and all too often some of our endings are sad, but during desperate times when there seems to be no hope, Make-A-Wish steps in and provides positive, and uplifting relief. Most of all, a wish granted brings a time of magic and joy, for the special children and the families we serve.
Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK has granted over 4,000 very special wishes since 1986. Originally formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 1980 there are now over 30 affiliates throughout the world

Please give generously to the raffle and support the sponsorship forms which will be around I'm sure. This is a very worthwhile cause with a very powerful Folk public image.

Previously we have been able to support

The Rose Road Association

A local shelter for the homeless

Ty Hafen, the Children's Hospice in Wales.

Holme Towers Cancer Hospital

Mid Glamorgan Psychiatric Unit

A Respite home in Miskin Village

Also small grants to local charitable causes

Keep up the good work!!!
